Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Open Postdoctoral Position (deadline 2/20/23)

Profs. David Grusky and Juliana Bidadanure are seeking a diverse pool of applicants who wish to join a team-based, collaborative community and who value the different skills, expertise, and perspectives necessary to design, conduct, sustain, and disseminate public impact research. We particularly encourage applications from women, minority, and first-generation PhD recipients, as well as candidates from a broad diversity of PhD-granting institutions. Scholars who received their PhD from Stanford University are not eligible to apply.

The postdoc will be working with the Economic Inclusion Project. The purpose of this project—a joint undertaking of the Stanford Basic Income Lab (BIL), the Stanford Center on Poverty and Inequality (CPI), and the Stanford Center for Population Health Sciences—is to examine the effects of (a) the new guaranteed income pilots in California, and (b) the planned Baby Bonds pilots in California. Using a mix of survey, administrative, qualitative, and experimental approaches, the project will equip state and local government partners with gold-standard estimates of the effects of expanding these pilots into expansive programs for all low-wealth and low-income children. We are currently recruiting a postdoctoral scholar with a strong background in statistical analysis, causal inference, and machine learning. The deadline is February 20, 2023.
